Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, the New York Nicks hosted the Boston Celtics to claim their second win this week. On Tuesday the Nicks beat the Pacers 104-94 and Thursday night beat the Celtics 108-105. Thursday night was the second loss this week for the Celtics.
For the Celtics, Tatum was the key player in this game with 36 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Brown had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist. Smart had 14 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Horford had 7 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Robert Williams III had 6 points, 9 rebounds and 1 assist. Schroeder sunk 20, had 5 rebounds and 3 assists while Richardson sunk 6 and had 2 rebounds.
For the Nicks, Fournier had 41 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Randle had 22 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Quickley had 16 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Barrett had 13 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists. Robinson had 7 points and 4 rebounds. Gibson had 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists while Burks had 3 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.
In the first quarter Robert Williams III got the game started for the Celtics with back to back two point layups assisted by Smart and Tatum.
Evan Fournier got the Nicks in the game in the first quarter with a three point jump shot.
On Saturday night the Nicks will travel to Boston for their second meeting this week with the Celtics.
